I’m not much of a winter person so when Spring arrives it puts a smile on my face. Trees begin to bloom, flowers begin to blossom and oh yeah, there’s that incredible warmth from the Sun. Each season brings something different, but it’s in the Spring when things truly come alive.

Spring is when I begin transitioning for the summer months. There’s so much to do in preparing for this season. Ladies, I think you know what I mean! The shorts come out, bathing suits, skimpy tops, sandals and flip flops just to name a few. There are a few things I like to do prior to putting on those sandals and bearing skin as the say.

The most time consuming thing for me is nurturing my feet after a long winter closed up in shoes. I use a few essential oils to remedy any bacteria or fungi under the nail bed. I know it sounds a little grotesque but the fact is with our feet being confined to closed shoes there’s bound to be some bacteria no matter how many pedicures you get during that time. So I prepare the following mixture and apply it liberally to my toenails daily.

Recipe:

36 drops Avocado Oil

12 drops Oil of Oregano

8 drops Tea Tree Oil

Mix well, and use a brush to apply to your toenails 3 times daily. I usually apply right after the morning shower to allow time for it to soak in and then again early evening and right before bed. I do this for 8 weeks and my nails look wonderful just in time for that new pair of sandals and a hot summer day.

I love the way my toenails look after this treatment. I also like the fact that it’s something you can do that’s manageable using ingredients you already have on hand.

I hope you experience similar results! until the next time.

Please note: Oil of Oregano is an hot oil and hot to the skin and not recommended to be used undiluted.

For best results apply to the bare nail as fungus hides in dark places and polish provides that darkness.

    1. Hi Alice, thanks for your comment! Walmart does sell selective oils in-store, however; they do carry a more extensive line of Products via online. They carry the NOW brand along with several others. You can also find these oils at any health food store or various online sites ie, Amazon at a comparable price.
