Ahhh, do you remember the vacations that make you don’t want to come back to reality. You know those times when you’re living outside of yourself and having the time of your life. Thinking, I want this to last forever or pinch me am I dreaming. Vacations like that are exclusive and you remember them for a lifetime.

Reminiscing when the kids were younger and how they would get so excited about going somewhere new and adventurous where they could do things out of the norm and meet new friends. You know that meant going to a kid and adult friendly destination. That way everybody was happy and there was something for everyone to do or enjoy.
Us big kids love to have fun too!

It was even fun when you just packed a bag and jumped in the car for a quick spontaneous trip that was planned on the spur of the moment, and of course with some affordable last minute deals. These are always the best trips when you just want to chill, relax or just get away to rub off the work week. Talking about fun and adventurous, you would never know what you would be doing, seeing or experiencing since it was so unplanned. These are some of my most memorable getaways and the only thing there was to think about is what destination can we get to within a couple of hours and is there availability for accommodations there.

Living in the Los Angeles area there were always destinations to visit in any direction you went. Once you left the inner city you would feel like you’re in a different place at times. One of my favorite places to go which was a mere hour drive from Pasadena, California was Palm Springs. Yes indeed, fun in the desert. Hollywood’s playground!

I love Palm Springs for many reasons. My main reason is there is always something to do or see. It’s wonderful when you can go to a place without an itinerary and have so many possibilities. The other great reason is that there are over 2500 restaurants and you can eat at a different restaurant for several years without eating at the same place twice. There’s something for everyone of all ages and the weather is straight out of a story book as well as the scenery. It’s the real deal! There are Hotels, Resorts and motels that fit into every price range making it an affordable vacation destination.

Double Tree by Hilton Golf Resort Palm Springs

Palm Springs is every bit the glamour you see in the movies and it all depends on how much you want to spend for the experience. Even on a mild budget it would be a grand vacation. When making plans always look at the peak and off peak times of year as that will determine your price range. I love the heat and enjoyed being in the dessert during the hottest months such as July where temperatures range from 110 – 124 degrees. Walking along the downtown district off Palm Canyon Drive under the misters shopping and stopping for appetizers and a cool drink along the way. Not many people are out during the day due to the high temperature levels where you can literally fry an egg on the sidewalk but all establishments definitely have air conditioning and welcomes you.

J W Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa

I’m most comfortable staying the the J W Marriott Palm Springs Resort & Spa as it has all the amenities I desire while on vacation. Being a full service resort and also offering beautiful Timeshare Villas provides you with many options of accommodations. This resort is surrounded by golf courses and a body of water that extends into their amazing lobby which is laced in gold, houses several large birds, luscious greenery and gondoliers you can take ride in for a tour around the premises. And lets not forget the colorful Flamingos when entering the resort…such an amazing place to see!

J W Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa Lobby

There’s lots of shopping to be done here as there are several quaint shops displaying products you most likely wont find anywhere else. Restaurants are plentiful and something for everyone. There’s the Rockwood Grill, Mikado Japanese Steakhouse, Aquifer65 and The Sushi Bar, “T&T” Time & Temperature Innovation Kitchen, The Oasis Poolside Bar & Grille, Fisherman’s Landing, Blue Star Lounge & The Spa Bistro. For those 21+ and over, dance the night away at the lively Costas Nightclub.

I can truly say there is no reason to ever leave the resort as they have everything you could possibly need even a full Spa to be pampered in during your stay.

There are so many places and things to do in the Palm Springs area and this is just one delectable journey to consider. Stay tuned for more places to see and explore.

Until then, safe travels

  1. First of all I want to say great blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like
to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before
writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out
there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost just trying to figure
out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?
    Kudos!

    1. Thank you for the wonderful feedback! When creating content for a post I usually begin by writing down all of my ideas for a topic and then continually adding upon them. This process makes it much easier for me to organize and fill in the blanks while capturing the all creative notes I wanted to touch upon. Hope that helps!
